About Us
Flintridge Overview
Mission: To improve the quality of life for children, youth and families by

  • initiating and supporting community partnerships
  • leveraging resources to strengthen nonprofit partners
  • providing space for creative collaboration.
Vision: A healthy, safe community where families thrive, youth reach their full potential, and equality and opportunity are accessible to all.

Over the past 25 years, Flintridge’s work and activities have been shaped by the community and its needs. In collaboration with local stakeholders, we address issues of disparity that affect community well-being, particularly those that impact the lives and futures of young people in Northwest Pasadena and Altadena.

Our priorities are:

  1. Providing tools, training and guidance to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations and community leaders to meet the comprehensive needs of children, youth and families.
  2. Developing practical and collaborative solutions to reduce community violence, including providing vocational training and workforce opportunities to deter gang involvement.
  3. Providing learning and enrichment opportunities that support the positive development of children and youth, with a focus on improving student achievement at Washington Middle School and John Muir High School.
  4. Mobilizing, coordinating and providing an administrative framework for community partnerships to address challenges, create change and respond to new opportunities.
