About Us
Flintridge Overview

Flintridge Operating Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, youth and families in Northwest Pasadena and Altadena, California.

Our goals and activities are shaped by the community and its needs. In collaboration with local stakeholders, we address issues of disparity that affect community well-being, particularly those that impact the lives and futures of young people.

Flintridge’s four priority areas are:

  1. Strengthening community-based nonprofit organizations and leaders to meet the comprehensive needs of children, youth and families.
  2. Developing safe and secure neighborhoods where children and youth can grow, play and learn, and families can thrive, with a focus on providing vocational training and workforce opportunities to deter gang involvement.
  3. Improving the local public educational system, particularly John Muir High School and its feeder schools, so that students graduate with the knowledge and skills to reach their full potential and lead productive lives.
  4. Mobilizing, facilitating and supporting community partnerships to address challenges, create change and respond to new opportunities.

We pursue a variety of approaches to accomplish these goals and achieve long-term impact. These include providing high-quality capacity building and technical assistance services for local nonprofit organizations and leaders; and initiating, coordinating and providing an administrative framework for community collaborations working to ensure the well-being and future success of young people.
