mission & vision

Who We Are
Flintridge Overview

Mission:

To create profound and lasting change in Northwest Pasadena/West Altadena through innovative programs that combat the effects of poverty and violence.

Vision: A healthy, safe community where families thrive, youth reach their full potential, and equality and opportunity are accessible to all.

For more than 25 years, Flintridge’s work and activities have been shaped by the community and its needs.

Our priorities:

Prevention: We further the positive development of at-risk youth through mentoring and out-of-school programs, with a focus on improving student achievement and graduation rates at Washington Middle School and John Muir High School.

Intervention: We steer individuals away from gangs, violence and incarceration through training and workforce opportunities, one-on-one support and links to services in order to foster hope and build skills for self-sufficiency.

Collaboration: We develop, lead and manage community partnerships that bring together diverse stakeholders, leveraging our collective resources to solve our community’s toughest challenges.
