Ariel describes herself as a visionary, educator and public servant. She joined Flintridge in February 2011 after participating in the Vision 20/20 Core Group, representing the Pasadena Human Services Commission. She was soon asked to be the chair and then the director for the ICU Pasadena project to foster inter-group understanding and collaboration. Her responsibilities include: convening and managing the workgroup, facilitating community dialogues and developing strategies to support program goals and increase community awareness of the ICU campaign.

Ariel grew up in Northwest Pasadena/Altadena and graduated from John Muir High School. She discovered her passion for social justice as a facilitator for the Intergroup Dialogue Program during her undergraduate studies at Occidental College. She has since co-authored a chapter in a book about her experience as a facilitator, which is being used to train others in universities across the nation. After working for the City of Los Angeles Commission for Children, Youth and Their Families as a program coordinator, Ariel decided that she wanted to bring her skill set back home. She is a Masters of Human Development and Social Justice candidate at Pacific Oaks College.
