About Us

Armando L. Gonzalez, FAIA, Chair
Pasadena, California. A founding principal of the firm Gonzalez/Goodale Architects, specializing in institutional design projects. Committed to community, people and service. Believes in the immense value of the arts. Toured China in relation to a Sister City tour with key officials from the City of Pasadena. Holds leadership positions on several nonprofit boards, including Huntington Memorial Hospital and Centro Latino for Literacy. Serves on the President’s Latino Advisory Committee for Pasadena City College and on the advisory board of the UCLA Bruin Community School.


Ernestine L. Moore, Vice Chair/Treasurer
Pasadena, California. Retired after 32 years as Vice President of Student and Learning Services at Pasadena City College. Subsequently served as District Director for California State Senator Jack Scott. Active on the boards of local nonprofit organizations including Pasadena Senior Center and Pasadena City College Flea Market. Member of the Education Committee of Pasadena NAACP. Past member and chair of the City of Pasadena Human Services Commission. Passionate advocate for community empowerment and youth education.


Alexander Moseley, Secretary
Pasadena, California. Studio artist working primarily in wood. Provided research for a book on the architecture of California architects Buff, Straub and Hensman published by the University of Southern California. Contributes his time to Flintridge Center to design graphic and presentation materials and to build and manage databases for Flintridge activities. Collects Native American art and believes deeply in the importance of art to society.


Lorna Fitzgerald, Board Member
Pasadena, California. Vice President of American Funds Distributors, a division of The Capital Group Companies, responsible for Marketing Research. Has also held executive positions in market research, market strategy and brand management at Intel, Toshiba and IBM. In addition to domestic and international business experience, was formerly on the faculty of Cornell University’s Department of Psychology. Committed to giving back to the community and advancing educational opportunities for youth, has volunteered on the Pasadena Educational Action Committee and the Pasadena Unified School District’s Principal for a Day program to strengthen ties between local public schools, businesses and the community. Understands that a thoughtful approach and focused efforts have the power to change young people’s lives today and for generations to come.


Betty Chin Ho, Board Member
Pasadena, California. Brings extensive understanding of the local nonprofit community and City of Pasadena infrastructure and procedures. Currently active on the boards of Pasadena Respiratory Foundation and Rowe and Gayle Giesen Trust. Member of the Huntington Hospital Community Benefits Committee and the Pasadena City of Learning. For eight years served as Deputy to Mayor Bill Bogaard and for eight years as field representative to Mayor Katie Nack. Served as a Pasadena Unified School District consultant. Serves on the advisory boards for Villa Esperanza and Young and Healthy. Prior board service includes the Armory Center for the Arts, Five Acres, Pasadena Child Health Foundation, YWCA and the Pasadena Community Foundation. Believes a community's integrity and stability are vital for a healthy environment.

Harry Yohalem, Board Member
Pasadena, California. Retired after more than four decades practicing law, including 19 years as General Counsel of the California Institute of Technology and its Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Prior positions include ten years as a partner in the Washington office of Rogers & Wells (now Clifford Chance) and earlier in his career a succession of legal and policy positions in state and federal government, including Assistant Counsel to then New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, Deputy General Counsel for Legal Services of the U.S. Department of Energy and Deputy Undersecretary of that Department. Regards improving public education as our country’s most important challenge and is committed to bettering educational opportunities for Pasadena’s school-aged population. Also serves on the board of 211 LA County.
