Curbside Coaching is a new addition to our Curbside Consulting services designed to support Executive Directors.
The pilot program will provide one-to-one support for four executive directors. Each ED will receive six one-hour coaching sessions with Dr. Alan Hedman, founder of the Nonprofit Leadership Forum. The pilot is designed for ED's serving the Northwest Pasadena/Altadena community who are facing a new or continuing challenge or who want to take their performance to a higher level.
Friday, January 6, 2012
Curbside Coaching will begin with an introductory group session and lunch with Dr. Hedman and Flintridge Program Director Lisa Wilson.
January 11 - March 21, 2012
Individual coaching sessions will take place at the Flintridge Center offices on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday between the hours of 2 – 7 p.m. Participants will have a standing one-hour appointment during this time period.
Date TBA
Curbside Coaching will end with an evaluation/focus group to determine impact and allow participants to provide feedback for future program design.
Coaching is a powerful tool for people in positions of leadership to receive unbiased feedback and guidance on how to do their work better. By focusing on improving future performance, coaching differs from mentoring or consulting because the participant is a co-creator of the process of growth. By providing this opportunity for nonprofit leaders serving Northwest Pasadena/Altadena, Flintridge helps realize its vision of a community with thriving families and youth who reach their full potential.
Flintridge Center is offering Curbside Coaching for the discounted fee of $150, a substantial savings from the cost of independently securing coaching services. Participants will also receive a leadership assessment and resources including Dr. Hedman’s book, Killer B’s and Worker B’s: Survive or Thrive? Limited scholarship support is available.
The application form is available below as a downloadable PDF. Save and email the completed form, along with a brief letter expressing your interest in and objectives for coaching to Lisa Wilson, Program Director. The application and letter should be received by Friday, December 30, 2011. Receipt will be acknowledged, and qualified applicants will be interviewed the following week. Applicants selected to participate in Curbside Coaching will be announced on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
