Flintridge Center’s Community Services Program provides educational programming and resources for close to 400 nonprofit agencies throughout the San Gabriel Valley each year.
This multifaceted approach to capacity building is an important way that Flintridge works to improve the quality of life for children, youth and families.
Our programming draws from more than 20 years of experience in the field, as well as from the TCC Group’s 2010 study on the state of capacity building in Los Angeles County, commissioned by the Weingart Foundation, and an external evaluation of our services conducted by the Human Interaction Research Institute (through Valley Nonprofit Resources).
In addition, we continually solicit feedback from our constituents about their professional development needs.
Among the program enhancements we have recently implemented are longer consulting sessions, expanded training for board members, and tiered workshops and trainings tailored to organizations at different developmental stages.
To build local leadership, we are also introducing two new programs, Millennium Leadership and Building Better Boards. In addition, we support the Pasadena Executive Roundtable, an informal consortium of local nonprofit executive directors who meet monthly to share common concerns around leadership and management issues.

Our vision is communities made stronger by the people and organizations we serve.
