Community Services offers a wide variety of workshops and trainings tailored to meet the professional development needs of nonprofit staff, boards and volunteers. These learning opportunities range from informal Brown Bag Lunches to e-formation webinars to intensive, in-depth trainings. The sessions are taught by knowledgeable and experienced instructors and cover all aspects of nonprofit management. Topics include: board development, fundraising strategies, proposal writing, financial management and accounting, new technologies, communications and marketing, evaluation and volunteer training and recruitment.
Peer sharing is an important part of each workshop. Participants learn problem solving strategies from colleagues who have faced similar challenges and issues, and the exchange of ideas helps build connections and relationships between organizations.
In addition, Flintridge sponsors a Brown Bag Lunch presented by Community Partners — To Be or Not to Be a Nonprofit — which covers the basics of how to get started, including how to apply for tax-exempt status and create governance structures. Information is also provided on fiscal sponsorship.
Please check the Calendar of Events for the latest offerings.
