Apprenticeship Preparation Program Instructor
Andy Alvarez

Andy is a system impacted, first generation college student, born and raised in Northeast Los Angeles. In 2015, he completed our Apprenticeship Preparation Program and was placed as a Union Carpenter. After deciding that he wanted to continue his educational career and give back to the community he joined the Flintridge Center. Now, he is an instructor for our collaborative workforce development program geared to inspire individuals for careers in construction. Andy completed his BA in Sociology with a minor in Latin American Studies in 2019, and is currently working on his MA degree at Cal State Los Angeles. In his free time, Andy enjoys working out, eating out with friends and family, working on cars, and nature.
