Janet Ramirez, MSW, ASW

Janet Ramirez (she/her/ella), MSW, ASW grew up in Northwest Pasadena and attended Washington Middle School and Pasadena High School. The proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, Janet is the first in her family to attend college, graduating from Cal State Los Angeles in 2016 with a degree in public health with an emphasis in community health.

Janet has worked at Flintridge Center since 2016, and earned her Master of Social Work in 2020 from California State University, Northridge. Janet was part of the first ever binational CSUN-Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico MSW cohort. Janet has also provided therapeutic services and mindfulness and healthy coping skills education at THINK Together, Children’s Bureau, and Hillsides Education Center. In addition to her MSW, Janet is trained in EMDR, trauma-informed care, and healing-centered engagement.

After six years as case manager with Flintridge Center’s Youth of Promise program, Janet is excited to begin her new role as the Manager of Behavioral Health. In this role, Janet provides direct supervised therapeutic services to youth and adult community members while developing Flintridge Center’s continuum of behavioral health and supportive services. She is committed to dismantling oppressive and punitive systems and working to create authentic healing-centered spaces though empowerment, mindfulness, and connection.
