Even more graduations!

Three of our Youth of Promise — Mary, Eli, and Brianna — graduated high school. Despite her family struggling with poverty for most of her life, Mary graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA while working part time. Next year she’ll be attending UC Merced.
Eli, a dedicated Youth of Promise participant since middle school, enjoyed playing football for Pasadena High School and is looking forward to attending Pasadena City College. We were so proud to congratulate Brianna on earning her diploma from Rose City High School. If you’ve been on our list for a while, you may remember Brianna’s story. In 9th grade, she almost dropped out of school, but thanks to her dedication to her future and advocacy from Youth of Promise program staff, she got the help she needed to finish strong.
Brianna says her younger siblings are her biggest motivation to do well in school. “I want to show them they can look up to me,” she explains. Brianna also says the biggest lesson she’s learned is to “never give up, and ask for help when you need it.”
Meanwhile, Carlos and Ruben promoted to high school. Stay tuned to hear more about their successes and all our other Youth of Promise!
