Girls on the Run Crossing the Finish Line

Girls on the Run has come to an end! Our Flintridge Team of middle school girls had a great time going to the Girls on the Run 5k event. Some walked, some ran, but all crossed the finish line and received their medals! We had some parents come to support their daughters, and all of our girls had pink capes they decorated themselves. Soccer-playing sisters Metzly and Xitlaly showed off their athletic skills by keeping a good running pace the whole way. Others took their time and walked such as our Flintridge staff member, Janet. Our team had a lot of fun during the 5k, and most importantly our participants were able to open up during the weeks of training, discussions, and activities that they had with the guidance of our amazing volunteer coaches. We hope to participate in Girls on the Run again this upcoming autumn, and are always working towards giving our youth self-confidence and inner strength.
