Good Things Come In Threes

Three Apprenticeship Preparation Program graduates from the Fall 2015 session have been accepted into Union Local 1247 — Resilient Floor and Decorative Covering! Erika, Christopher, and Richard accepted paying jobs and all started working last week. Erika is working at a carpeting company, Christopher is working on a flooring project at USC, and Richard is doing construction at a middle school.

We focus on finding union positions for our APP graduates because those positions offer the best wages and benefits and set our grads up for success in lasting careers. Our 12-week program covers blueprinting, math skills, workplace communication, life skills, and everything else participants needs to be ready to be accepted to a union. Job Specialist Peter Matich makes sure everyone in the class has a great resume, knows how to have a successful interview, and understands what unions and contractors are looking for in new apprentices.

The new semester of the APP starts this week! For more information about the APP, contact Daniel.
