Looking Forward to Fall: A New APP Cohort Begins

Thirty interested individuals showed up at Flintridge Center bright and early last Monday morning for Apprenticeship Preparation Program orientation. After introductions to Flintridge staff and the program, Ben Garcia from the Los Angeles/Orange County Building Trades spoke about the vast amount of opportunities available in union construction and the expectations for an apprentice. Catharine Rajan, who is coordinating local hiring for the 10 West Walnut project in Pasadena, spoke about the impact that well-paying construction positions can have on families.
The cohort, which starts this week, will be facilitated by Andy Alvarez and J.D. Williams, who both went through the program and worked in the union before returning to Flintridge on staff.
