New Mentor Pair

Meet Dane and Gabriel — one of our brand new Youth of Promise mentoring pairs!

Gabriel is a 13-year-old Washington Middle School student who loves boxing and soccer and really wants to go to college. Dane is a firefighter who grew up in Pasadena and went to the same school as Gabriel. As a father of three young children, Dane feels that he has a lot to offer. He says that when he was growing up, many people looked out for him and gave him opportunities to succeed. He wants to pass on that support and guidance to a young person that needs it. Dane and Gabriel have a lot in common and are excited to spend more time together!
