New Students Arrive and Thrive

We’re one week into the new semester of our Apprenticeship Preparation Program and we are already so impressed and inspired by the cohort of students ready to change their lives.

So far, students have learned about the union apprenticeship process in different construction trades, studied some basic construction math, practiced pitching themselves to employers, and had their first life skills session with our partner 2nd Call.

We’re proud of our students’ dedication to improving themselves and pursuing lasting careers and can’t wait to see what they can achieve. They’ve all faced major challenges, including poverty, housing issues, gang violence, and years in prison and jail. Coming up, students will be building Little Free Libraries to install around Pasadena, visiting union construction sites, and practicing their interviewing skills.
