Youth of Promise Enters 2020

Youth of Promise (YOP) started off the new year by celebrating National Mentoring Month in January. Mentors and mentees from across Pasadena got together to celebrate the impact of mentoring on youth, adults, and the entire community.
Students continue to attend twice-weekly tutoring sessions with volunteer tutors at Flintridge and Aspires West. This February, YOP students volunteered with Food Forward (a youth favorite!), collecting extra produce at farmers’ markers to donate to local food recovery organizations. In addition to these ongoing activities, it’s time for another season of Girls on the Run, an empowerment program for girls in 6th-8th grade.
YOP is also excited to provide monthly Family Cafes with partner Prototypes. Family Cafes engage parents and caregivers in a discussion about youth and their development. We’re looking forward to continuing this strong start throughout the year!
