know your rights trainings
The youth and young adults in our community often have questions about how to interact with law enforcement. At Know Your Rights Trainings, volunteer attorneys provide important information and guidance, based on curriculum developed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Southern California. The purpose of the trainings is to keep community members safe and preserve their rights during interactions with law enforcement.
Community organizations throughout Pasadena, Altadena, and the greater Los Angeles area request Know Your Rights Trainings for their program participants. Flintridge plays a coordinating role, and also provides the trainings to our own program participants in Youth of Promise and the Apprenticeship Preparation Program.
Know Your Rights Trainings are just one piece of our multifaceted effort to reduce recidivism, prevent violence, and increase community wellness.
